Inspect Point · Compare
Inspectionto invoice,one record.
Getz Fire Equipment ran up to four systems for inspections, customer data, and invoicing before Inspect Point; their accepted deficiency proposals went from 20% to 70%+. Inspect Point carries the inspection, the deficiency with its severity, the proposal, the work order, the invoice, and the payment on one building record, and submits the report to the AHJ from the same record. Proposals come with Gold and service work orders with Platinum.

NFPA 25 follows the code year you pick, and a building on an older edition can be held there with a per-building override. | Varies by vendorSome ship fire question sets; others are checklists you configure, sometimes as an add-on. | Varies by vendorSome ship fire templates; otherwise you maintain them when a code edition changes. | The edition you last printedA new code year means a new print run. |
| Getting the report to the AHJ | Submit from the reportThe Compliance Engine, IROL, and LivSafe, submitted when the report is done rather than when the office gets to the portal. FDNY extinguisher submissions carry the Certificate of Fitness. A jurisdiction on its own printed form gets a generated form, and new ones are added without an app release. | SometimesSome connect to The Compliance Engine; otherwise export a PDF and upload it. | Export and uploadYou export the PDF and upload it in the portal yourself. | Mail, fax, or a portalSomeone in the office mails, faxes, or uploads it. |
| A deficiency, after the inspection | One record to the paymentThe severity is set on the report, and the proposal, work order, invoice, and payment sit on the same building record with nothing re-keyed between them. Getz Fire Equipment’s accepted deficiency proposals went from 20% to 70%+; HJ Pertzborn’s rose 40%. Proposals need Gold, service work orders Platinum. | Quotes and work ordersWhether the deficiency and its severity carry over varies by vendor and configuration. | Varies by vendorSome quote from the form; otherwise the deficiency is captured and quoted elsewhere. | Re-keyedSomeone types it into the office system after the visit. |

| Extinguishers | Service clock from the manufacture dateSix-year and twelve-year service dates, first estimated from the manufacture date and then updated by the service history. When a field service platform, a forms app, or paper is the right call
A field service platform
A field service platform is the right call when fire is a small line in a larger mechanical or electrical business, its reports meet your AHJs’ requirements, and dispatch and job costing lead the decision. A fire contractor who dispatches and bills in BuildOps or Simpro and has outgrown the checklist is a different case: the inspection side moves to Inspect Point and syncs back, and dispatch and billing stay where they are.
A forms app
A forms app is the right call when you run one trade with fewer than three technicians and under 400 inspections a year, none of your jurisdictions use an AHJ portal, and nobody quotes deficiencies off the report. That is below where Inspect Point plans start.
Paper
Paper is the right call when you inspect a handful of buildings a year in one jurisdiction and the customer accepts the signed sheet. A jurisdiction’s own printed form is a form we generate, and new ones are added without an app release.

Common questions
Is Inspect Point a field service platform?
No. It runs scheduling, inspections, deficiencies, proposals, service work orders, invoices, and payments for fire and life safety contractors. Accounting stays in QuickBooks, Sage, or ComputerEase, synced from the platform, with paid custom builds for Dynamics 365, Odoo, Q360, NetSuite, and others. A contractor who dispatches and bills in BuildOps or Simpro can keep that and sync the inspection side.
Does it work on Android devices?
No. The field app runs on iPad, iPhone, and Apple-silicon Macs, and your company supplies its own devices. Synced inspections run fully offline and send to the office when there is signal again.
Which plan has proposals and work orders?
Silver covers inspections, compliant reports, and deficiency management. Gold adds sales proposals. Platinum adds service work orders, phone support, and API access. Payments can be turned on with any plan. Plans start at three technicians, or fewer technicians running 400 or more inspections a year. Enterprise plans start at 15 technicians, and eight operators with 100 or more technicians run on the platform today.
